Chocolate Caramel Tarts

Mmmm... looks good doesn't it?

Can you believe that these... things are supposed to be the same thing as those in the photo above? (I obviously took a photo of the photo in the cookbook)

Yeps, that's what they turn out looking like.

Ky wanted to make something to take to George's BBQ on Saturday night so she found this recepie which says that preparation time only takes 30 mins. But in reality, it took Ky three times that. Sorry for being late again George!

The pastry's gotta be flattened down into the holes n up the sides WIH YOUR FINGERS. Then after baking them in the oven for about 15 or so mins, you have to make the caramel (using butter, golden syrup and condensed milk) and pour it in, then put then in for a few more minutes.

Then came the tricky part.

We couldn't get them out in one piece. The shell of it was so crumbly and soft that the whole thing kinda just crumbles when you finally get it out of the bloody tin. There's where we failed epically.

So since we couldn't get them out, we just wrapped everything in glad wrap and headed off to George's. When we got back Ky somehow got them all out, covered the tops with melted chocolate and put them in the fridge for storing.

Hot or cold. Even if they're ugly. They're damn good. And oh so damn rich.
