iPad 2 Launch at Sydney City Apple Store

At the very start of the day!
12:30pm arrival to join the line.

Got no idea where the line ended, even after taking this photo!

Surprisingly we were only at about 230th in the line. And considering the first person started lining up 2 DAYS before the launch, we were pretty close to the front of the line!

Too much time till the launch meant that we had to amuse ourselves somehow.

Periodically through the day we'd get freebies from Apple!
First up were free Krispy Kremes!


Free Kit Kats!


Free cans of soft drink! (And bottles upon bottles of water too!)


A couple of Apple guys came through the line with cards for the exact model that we wanted. Each card was to be redeemed for one iPad.


With about half an hour left before the launch, a mass of Apple staff ran all the way down the line and back up to get us all hyped up for the 5pm launch.


But we still had to wait for another 2.5hrs to get INTO the store!!

At least we were clapped and cheered out of the store. It made us feel like such VIPs that I felt sorry for the people to exit after us.

What a way to end a day of waiting in line for 7.5hrs!
