Edible Lavender

At work I talk about lavender all the time. The fragrance. The benefits. The appropriateness of it as a gift. The history. The different types. The flower itself. Aaaaand the list goes on.

The first time I ever saw it used in cooking (and not just in cookbook photos) was on the second season of Masterchef when Fiona used lavender flowers to make her chocolate ganache, lavender cream and raspberry tart.

It got me thinking... what would it taste like? Sweet? Flowery? Strange?

Lucky me finally got a taste of it a few weeks ago when one of the ladies at work brought in a lavender cupcake.

It was yum! Sweet, just as I like it. It was pretty in purple too!
