Wide Minded?

I've noticed that when referring to being less narrow minded, people don't say 'be more wide-minded.' Rather, they say 'be more open-minded.'

Why IS that?

There are people who use 'close-minded' with 'open-minded' but they never use 'wide-minded' with 'narrow-minded'!!!

Gosh English is weird....
